Knowing what to do when a dental emergency happens can be the difference between saving and losing a tooth. That’s why we’ve compiled some tips for common dental emergencies:
If you knock out a tooth, rinse it wild cold whole milk and try to put it back in the socket. If you are unable to do this, put the tooth either between your cheek and gums or in milk and call our office immediately.
If you crack your tooth, rinse your mouth with warm water right away then apply a cold compress and call our office.
If you’ve bitten your tongue or lip, gently clean the bitten area with water and immediately apply a cold compress then call our office.
If you have a toothache, wash your mouth with warm water and gently remove any food caught between your teeth with dental floss then call our office.
If you have an object stuck in your mouth, do not try to remove it with any sharp or pointed instruments. Instead, try gently removing the stuck object with floss and immediately call our office.
